Government Degree College (GDC), Bishnah celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour in the college campus. The programme was coordinated and managed by the NSS and 8 J&K NCC Units of the college.
The celebrations began with the ceremonial unfurling of the National Flag by Dr. Shallu Samyal, Principal, GDC Bishnah, who also addressed the gathering. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of the Constitution of India and emphasized the values of unity, integrity, democracy, and national responsibility.
The NCC cadets presented a patriotic song and paid a formal salute to the National Flag. This was followed by a collective rendition of “Vande Mataram” by faculty members, staff, and students, creating an atmosphere filled with national pride.
The programme witnessed active participation from faculty, staff, students, and NCC cadets of the Girls Battalion, Jammu. Their enthusiastic involvement reflected deep patriotism, discipline, and commitment towards the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shallu Samyal appreciated the efforts of NSS and NCC volunteers and encouraged students to uphold constitutional values and actively contribute to nationbuilding.
The celebration concluded on a patriotic note, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to nurturing responsible, disciplined, and socially conscious citizens.
