In this sphere, the Department of Higher Education has made a landmark contribution towards the economic development & social change through infrastructure building, its restructuring and expansion. In the current scenario , as per report of National Knowledge Commission there is an imminent need to reform & change our higher education system to meet the aspiration of the present day youth.In pursuit of these ideals, the govt, of J&K instrumented the establishment of the Govt. Degree College .Bishnah vide Govt, order No.HE/Plan-H/305/06 dated 27/12/2007 and was inaugurated on 12th June, 2008 by the then Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education Sh. Gulchain Singh Charak.
